This Wasteland (feat. Paul Brickey-HCGC)

about

Originally written by Paul Brickey of Heimlich County Gun Club with his former band Suck Stuff.

lyrics

That old sound crosses any river,
And the angry boy picks up his guitar.
Heads for town.
Cold rips in a shiver.
Everything's been just peachy 'til this far.
Oh, I doubt it.

Dad's laid off Christmas time this winter.
Salvation Army truck pulls to the gate.
And it's there, worth more than gold or silver.
Punk rock, just for now, is an escape.

What if I could deny all my emotions?
Or if I could lay waste to the master plan?
So lest I vilify all my ambitions,
I will rise clear above this wasteland.

Will I live to see another snowfall?
Or will I put my anger to the road?
And I'd give everything I'm offered,
Just to burden someone else with this load.
